Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: learning, teaching, assessment.
The European Language Certificates are language examinations offered by the WBT Further Education Test Systems throughout Europe. They follow the guidelines for language learning and testing described by the Common European Framework of Reference. The examinations are offered at 4 different levels of language competence ranging from A1 to B2. They test all the skills with particular emphasis on communication skills. The examinations consist of two parts: written and oral. The written tests are marked within a central marking system in Germany, whereas the oral examinations are carried out and marked locally by authorized teachers of English.
Foreign Language Unit has already organized the TELC examinations six times, and the teachers of English took part in training courses in the years 2002, 2005 and 2008.
